Project: Volunteer in a Daycare Center in Argentina
I only can recommend this project to other volunteers, it’s a great experience. I hope my information will help you a little bit and I hope you can understand my English.
I've been there from the 4 of August until the 10th of September 2008. My time in this home has been organized through the ELG and Marcelo was my contact person in Argentina. My residence in the home was very nice, the people who are responsible for the home are also very nice, and it was a pleasure for me to meet them.
They were very friendly and always tried to help me, when I needed something they arranged it for me.
I didn't have special tasks in the home and also no agenda, I slept in the home so I was a lot of time in the home and made different things with the children: I went with them to the center of the town to the playground, to eat an ice-cream or we went to the outdoor swimming pool. I played with them in the home soccer, we played the cards, I helped a little bit with the homework, and we watched videos and so on. So for the kids I was a person with whom they could do some things, I spend the time with them and tried to give them joy. The home itself is a little bit outside of the city, it's a very nice and quiet place. I only can recommend this project to other volunteers, it’s a great experience.
