Volunteer in a Nursery in Sucre

Project Summary: This nursery project involves 3 nurseries in Sucre which are members of a local NGO called P.A.N (Programa de la Associacion de Niños). There are approximately 20-50 children per nursery but only 3-5 members of staff per nursery.

These nurseries are located in farming communities where the children's parents work long hours so it is up to the nursery staff to care for these children. Our volunteers play an important role as they make up for the shortage of staff available to each nursery.

Your role as a volunteer

Your role is to engage in activities with the children such as playing sports with them, encouraging them to express themselves artistically, reading books to them etc… You can also help to organize field trips to museums and plan other cultural and educational activities.

Program Schedule/Working hours and days

Monday-Friday 3-5 hours per day.

Program Requirements

You should enjoy interacting with children and be open-minded to challenging situations that may arise while caring for the children on a daily basis. Motivation is a very important tool and a basic level of Spanish would be helpful.
