The Eco-Sustainable Farm was born out of the realization that we all have the responsibility and duty to help initiate a paradigm shift for a brighter tomorrow. The vision of the farm is to one day, with the help of international volunteers, become a self sustaining collection of teachers, students, healers, artists, and naturalists. The idea is to inspire and ignite the flame of creativity in all of us in order to restore a balance with our connection to Earth. The land is bordered by a beautiful fresh water stream (where the farm gets its water) and an ever flowing tropical river on the other side. The stream and the river meet at the point where the gateway is to the farm. This essentially makes the farm area a jungle peninsula. It is a fairly new project, and requires international volunteers who are interested in sustainable development and who are also happy to build, help and contribute ideas.

What can I do in my free time?
uVolunteer anticipates and encourages your desire for travel and adventure. Your time away from volunteering is open for you to decide your activities. You may decide to take advantage of the local culture and spend time within the community over the weekend. Otherwise, there is ample opportunity to explore Costa Rica and all it has to offer.
Places close to the farm:
- Puerto Limon: Puerto Limon is the main city on the Atlantic coast of Costa Rica. This Caribbean city is the most sparsely populated, least economically developed and most culturally distinct of the seven provinces. Many tourists and locals say that traveling to Puerto Limon, Costa Rica is like entering another country.
- Puerto Viejo: This wonderful beach town on the Caribbean side of Costa Rica holds many surprises. With its laid back attitude and Caribbean life style, you can be assured of a relaxing Costa Rican holiday. Naturally, for those of us who like a more active holiday, Puerto Viejo has it all. Long walks on pristine beaches, experiencing exotic flora and fauna in a wildlife refuge, snorkeling or diving among the many reefs in our crystal clear waters, world-class surfing, mountain biking, kayaking and cultural visits to indigenous peoples.
Other weekend trips include:
- Arenal Volcano National Park in La Fortuna
- Póas Volcano National Park in Cartago
- Canopy tours in Monteverde
- Museums in San José
- Rafting on the Pacuare River in Turriabla
- Surfing in Jacó, Puerto Viejo, Tamarindo, and Montezuma
