What's not included: Flight, Visa Costs, In-country Transportation
Project Overview: Tourists flock from all over the world to experience the sights and sounds of Costa Rica's beautiful nature. You'll get the richest experience possible in these places by becoming a hands on volunteer at one of the 8 national parks and reserves participating in our program. These parks are located throughout the country, giving you an opportunity to see much of Costa Rica's climate, including its rain forests, tropical dry forests, coasts, and sea. You can work in one park, or multiple. We'll help you make the arrangements if you want to split your time among the parks.
Locals work hard to preserve these places of wilderness. The government has taken many steps to protect over a quarter of the country's land. Not only will your volunteer work drive conservation efforts, it will help the Costa Rican economy, as these wildlife parks and reserves are attracting many travelers in recent years. You'll come away with an insider's knowledge of these amazing areas, tropical climates, and environmental conservation.
What will I be doing? You will be protecting Costa Rica's endangered environments by constructing and maintaining park trails, building bridges, and cleaning park facilities. You'll also support research projects, collaborate with the environmental education program, assist tourists, and even help in the facility kitchen.
Where will I be volunteering? You will be based in the National Parks of Cost Rica. Your actual location will depend on the specific placement of your program. However, it will either be in the staff community of the park or in a nearby town to the park
What will be my schedule? The project schedule requires that you work 5 days a week, Monday to Thursday. The schedule is very flexible, this means shifts will change depending on the needs of the project when you are volunteering.
Below are testimonials of previous volunteers on this project. Click though to their full reports where you can view their video reports, photos and you can also contact them directly by email to ask about their experiences with us in Costa Rica.
