All in all, although there were some negative aspects of this experience, the whole was a great experience that has helped me grow as a person and learn about a different culture.

The uVolunteer staff was very accommodating and helpful.
Unfortunately, due to many circumstances, I was only able to work with the kids for a total of 7 days, which is not nearly enough time to leave a lasting impression. I had high expectations for my placement and they fell short. But it was still a great experience and I am grateful to have met the kids and spent a little time with them. As for my home stay, I had very low expectations and the real thing was much more than I could ever have imagined.
My home stay by far the best part of this whole experience!
My host mom was great form the beginning. She made me feel welcome and comfortable from the first day. She taught me a lot about the culture, the food, the country, etc. she helped me learn the language and helped me when I was sick. She really made me feel at home here. I am sure that my experience would have been worst for her. I would and will recommend to anyone that asks that they have a home stay experience. The uVolunteer staff was very accommodating and helpful. I felt I could go to them whenever I needed they were very supportive throughout this whole experience and really made the transition easier.
