These kids were amazing, a burst of life. A remind of all the good that is still in the world…

David Ross's Volunteer Story

Program Volunteer Costa Rica
Project: Volunteer Teaching Sports and Physical Education in Costa Rica

Every day I arose with the morning light and the soft summer dew collected on the window. I had my beans and rice plate and was out the door, on my way to the unexpected.

What will this day bring? I often asked myself. It always brought me laughs, smiles and some times tears. Tears of joy. These kids were amazing, a burst of life. A remind of all the good that is still in the world.David Ross

I loved my stay here in San Ramon.

Not speaking Spanish well, I was nervous at my ability to connect with the kids. However this proved to be only a minor obstacle and the kids still accepted me with open arms. Sometimes I asked myself whether teaching a gym class is really going to make a difference. In the end I feel it did. To brighten up these kids days and make them smile and laugh is worth the world to me. I loved my stay here in San Ramon.
