I feel like I’ve done something genuinely worthwhile and I’ve had a fantastic time.

Dina Rickman's Volunteer Story

Program Volunteer Costa Rica
Project: Volunteer in Building and Constructing Homes in Costa Rica

Doing the building with your best friends brings you closer as a group and improves your ability to work in a team.

I arrived at my construction Project after traveling in Costa Rica for 4 weeks. I thought that going from hostel to hostel had been rough on my body but it was nothing compared to the cuts, bruises and general fatigue after digging, not to say the work hasn´t been enjoyable, it´s just physically demanding.Dina Rickman

Whilst working on the project we had the opportunity to travel to La Fortuna on the weekend which was amazing; one of the best places I’ve ever been to.

Volunteering on a construction site took me out of my element- I’m a politics student rather than a builder – it challenged me and I thoroughly enjoyed myself. I would recommend the project to anyone looking to do some worthwhile work and really see the material difference when they finish. Seeing the house go up has been excellent!
