Program Volunteer Costa Rica
Project: Volunteer in a Community Education Project in Costa Rica
I know that they have completely captured my heart and I´m in love with the children of Costa Rica.
Hola mis amigos. I want to start off by saying my trip to Costa Rica ws everything I had hoped and more. We arrived on a Friday and got accustomed to the dorm. Saturday was a blast… we got a tour of San Ramón and a chance to go zip lining. All the uVolunteer staff has been amazing in meeting our needs and making sure we´re all set for the week.
Overall… this has been one great experience.. it has changed me, the way I see the world, and my hopes for the future.
Sunday was our day off, which we enjoyed by getting some ice cream, shopping, laying in the sun and just hanging out. Our service has been amazing. It has two parts, which creates the greatest service I have yet to come by. The first part is construction of 3 new classrooms for the children. This is the long term change we` re creating at this center that will "leave our mark" after we left.
The second part is in the afternoon when we get to help the children. Between reading, teaching, playing and talking about.. I hope we´re making some great impact in their lives. I know that hey have completely captured my heart and I´m in love with the children of Costa Rica.
Overall… this has been one great experience.. it has changed me, the way I see the world, and my hopes for the future. I know I´ve caught " the bug" and ill be back to volunteer again.
