Program Volunteer Costa Rica
Project: Volunteer in a Community Education Project in Costa Rica

The time spent working with the children will never be forgotten.

When I first arrived in Costa Rica I was expecting the week to be spent spending time with the local kids, helping them with homework and playing with them in order to keep them out of trouble. What I got from my week spent in Costa Rica is so much more. Not only did I work with children, I spent time helping the community center by participating in construction projects.Samantha Bader

I am very happy with my experience and wouldn’t trade it for the world.

Although this construction was slightly unexpected, it definitely added to the experience in very important ways. With the construction I was able to feel as though the work and time I spent here will truly leave a physical mark. The classrooms we helped build will be there and used to change the lives of children for years to come.

Not only did I get to spend time with this work but also working with the local kids and one adult to improve their lives and hopefully this will also leave a lasting impact. The time spent working with the children will never be forgotten. My favorite part was watching the kids warm up to me, and spend time learning. They were not just working and learning because they had to but because they truly wanted to. Watching them try to be the best they can, even given the circumstances they have, is the most rewarding thing I could ever experience. Seeing their smiles when they read the word correctly and write the letter the right way in an image I will never forget.

My experience here in Costa Rica with uVolunteer has meant the world to me. It was everything I expected and even some I didn´t. I am very happy with my experience and wouldn't trade it for the world.
