uVolunteer General FAQs
How does uVolunteer spend its project fees?
55% of your volunteer fee is contributed towards supporting and managing our volunteers. This implies that we provide:
- Airport pick up and transportation
- Home stay / Dorm placement
- 2-3 meals a day
- Preparing and training skilled and knowledgeable staff
- Language lessons
- Training, orientation and health briefing
- 24/7 emergency service
20% of your fee is used for marketing and recruiting volunteers. Most local NGO's lack the funds and resources to create international awareness about their projects. As a result, we perform a large portion of marketing and advertising on their behalf. This allows us to reach out to you and create awareness of the needs of these local organizations.
15% is contributed towards regional office administrative fees such as:
- Employing staff
- Employment fees
- Accounting and legal fees
- Office expenses
- Answering phone calls and e-mails
- Maintainiace, updating and administration of wwww.uvolunteer.org
10% is allocated towards building partner relations and developing projects. In order for uVolunteer to create volunteer opportunities, we need to research, contact and interview organizations and individuals so that we can assess their level of need and their commitment towards providing a satisfying and memorable experience for our volunteers. In other words, we take an in depth look into each program to make sure that they are providing quality and value to our volunteers.
