What are the steps of uVolunteer's Application Process
uVolunteer Application Process
- Once we receive your initial application, we will reply to you within 48 hours to personally greet you and welcome you to our organization. If we foresee any problems arising with the initial information you supplied us, then we will tackle these issues at this stage.
- We will then send you a link to our final application form.
- Complete and return application the final application form.
- Once we have received your final application form, we will send you a payment request from PayPal for the $150 application deposit. This deposit is refundable if we can not place you in your preferred project.
If you do not feel comfortable using online payments, select the 'bank transfer' option on the final application form. When we receive an application with this option checked we will send the applicant our bank transfer information sheet. Please beware that international bank transfers can cost anything from $US 30-50 and can take up to 7 days. - Note: If you are applying less than 60 days prior to your program start date then you will have to pay your total program fee up-front.
- Once you have paid your deposit we will proceed to secure your placement within your desired project. If for some unforeseen reason we are unable to place you in the project after receiving your deposit, we will immediately refund 100% of your deposit. We will then process your application with our host country partners and staff. Please allow up to 10 days for us process your application form with our local projects and partners. If we have any questions regarding your placement during this time period, we will be in contact with you to ensure that we are matching you with your ideal placement.
- uVolunteer will notify you by email when we have finished processing your application. We will send you a Program Summary and Invoice outlining program, payment information and scheduling. Please make sure that we receive your final payment by the date on your invoice, otherwise your reserved placement in the project may be given to another person on a waiting list, in which case you will be notified of the cancellation of your placement.
- After we receive your final payment we will send you our welcome pack, which details pre-departure information including, visa information, necessary vaccinations, packing list etc.
- Once you have purchased your airfare please fax us a copy/scan of your travel itinerary, travel insurance specification and your passport. We will confirm delivery of your travel documents and arrange host country reception.
