How much money should bring with me to Bolivia?

The amount of spending money you will need is very subjective. It will depend on how much you intend to travel, and the lifestyle you intend to lead. Volunteers living in or frequenting urban areas will probably spend more money than volunteers in rural areas who spend most weekends in their host community. Keep in mind that Bolivia is one of the poorest Latin American countries so things are relatively cheaper than other parts of Latin America. You will need some spending money for personal costs such as communication with home, social activities, and paying for up-front medical expenses. Previous volunteers have been known to spend between $35 and $60 per weekend while placed in Bolivia. One-day excursions generally cost about $10-20. Traveler's checks are the safest way to carry money as they can be replaced if lost. You can also draw money using a credit or ATM card at banks in Santa Cruz and other more urban locations.

To give you a fair estimate on costs:
Food (if cooking at home): U$60/month
Bus fare: U$0.30
Taxi fare: U$1
Beer in a bar: U$2
Local set lunch: U$2
A weekend away from the city: U$35-$60

You need to assess your own spending habits and come up with a rough estimate of how much money you should bring with you to Bolivia.
