This is a social inclusion program that aims at offering basic computer skills to children of primary school age who have little or no access to computer usage. The beneficiaries are approximately 360 pupils from a nearby primary school. The project takes place at a purpose built training centre which is equipped with ten desktop computers, internet facility and teaching materials. The training centre is a 5-miutes walk from the primary school itself.

Where will I be volunteering?
The project is located in Accra central. It is only a 30 minutes drive from Kokrobite which has many fine beaches.
What will I be doing?
Volunteers are needed to teach the children basic computer skills, you may also be asked to to assist school teachers in other subjects such as English or sports. Volunteers are required to encourage and support the students to finish their education.
What is required to volunteer on this project?
- Language Requirement: Intermediate English
- Must be 18 years or older.
What will my schedule be like?
uVolunteer believes that you should have a well balanced work and play schedule. This means you will only be required to work 5 days per week (Monday to Friday) for a maximum of 6 hours per day. For the remainder of your time, you will be free to enjoy the vacationing aspects of your trip.

Will I be able to communicate with family and friends?
Internet Cafés and telephones are readily available throughout the country. An international phone card can be purchased once in Ghana.
What can I do in my free time?
uVolunteer anticipates and encourages your desire for travel and adventure. Your time away from volunteering is open for you to decide your activities. You may decide to take advantage of the local culture and spend time within the community over the weekend. Otherwise, there is ample opportunity to explore Ghana and all it has to offer. Our local representative, will advice you on which areas are safe for travel.
