The objective of this project is to provide teaching assistants to the elementary school based in and around Koforidua. The schools we place volunteers are generally low resourced but the staff and students of these schools are very excited and eager get to know you and work with you. Ghanaian teachers are very competent in teaching English, especially the grammatical side of English. However not all teachers use the correct grammar, intonation or pronunciation so having an English speaker assisting with the conversational aspects of teaching English can significantly improve the learning experience and futures of many children. There is also the opportunity to teach other subjects you that specialize in.

Where will I be volunteering?

You will be volunteering in the elementary based in and around Koforidua. Koforidua is the capital of the Eastern Region of Ghana. It has all the modern amenities but unlike the capital Accra and other more touristic towns it is very laid back and unhurried. We believe that Koforidua is a great location to experience why Ghanaians have a reputation for being kind and very welcoming.
