In Kenya, we have a uVolunteer representative staff that works to provide a fulfilling and safe volunteer abroad experience. The staff members in Kenya are not only a part of the uVolunteer team, but also natives that can offer advice only known by locals. Like all of our programs, each volunteer will have 24-hour connection with uVolunteer in-country staff.
Raphael Mwangi - Program Manager
Raphael was born in the village of Gatundu and has his Bachelors in Arts. As our program director in Kenya, Raphael manages all aspects of the program: the volunteers, their placements and the other staff members. He has a great understanding of the developments needs in Africa and hopes to approach these issues successfully with the help of international volunteers.
Kenneth Mungai - Project Coordinator
Ken is an undergraduate in Computer Science and a keen photographer. Ken also plays the role of meeting volunteers at the airport on their first day in Kenya and also accompanies volunteers to their placement after orientation. Ken’s mission is to create a world of equality and empowerment, through his work.
Monicah Gatonye - Volunteer Coordinator
Monicah is an undergraduate in Business Management studies; she has a wealth of experiences from different Non Profit Organizations dealing with international volunteers. She is the one who co-ordinates all the administrative work and she also organizes accommodation for volunteers with the host families. Being born in Kenya, she has a deep understanding of the country's rich culture.
