Huaraz
Huaraz is located high in the majestic Andes in the central northern part of Peru. This city has some of the best mountainous scenery in South America, with ample opportunities to do outdoor activities such as, biking, climbing, hiking, rafting and skiing. The city is surrounded by remarkable glacier peaks and mountains of the Cordillera Blanca and Cordillera Negra. You can see over 20 snow-capped peaks over 5000 meters, of which the most notable is Huascaran (6,768m), the highest mountain in Peru. The main street, Calle Luzuriaga has all the amenities restaurants, hotels, pharmacies, banks, post office and many more other shops. A majority of the population is made up of indigenous people and is a very conservative city.
Cusco
Cusco, which is known as the Inca City is located in the Southern Sierras of Peru. This most visited city in Peru is positioned in the southeastern part of the country only 80 km from Machu Pichu. According to Cusco's history and tradition, the Inca city was shaped like a crouching Puma. Evidence of this finding is present, with the main street still named Calle Pumakurkp or "puma's backbone." And the Pumaqchupan district or "puma's tail," located at the junction of the Bone and Thin Rivers. Cusco, the Archaeological Capital of America, will not leave visitors bored with many interesting and unique attractions to discover.
