Trat
Trat is the capital city of the Trat Province and is situated in Eastern Thailand, near the Cambodian border. Trat has become a resting point for those on their way to Thailand’s third largest Island and beach resort, Koh Chang. Most travelers do not stop for more than a few hours whilst waiting to catch the ferry to Koh Chang, so the town is not overcrowded with foreigners.
Trat province is rich in nutritious soils and therefore is known for its ability to provide year-round fruit. The flourishing environment surrounding Trat is scattered with picturesque waterfalls and scenic beaches. Trat also has a very strong local culture, so you get a feeling of being in a genuine Thai city, unaltered by the consumerism of larger cities.
