This Project provides Aids Orphans with another life after their parents have died of HIV/AIDS. This is achieved by providing the children with basic education, shelter, medication as well as food and clothes. Currently the project takes care of over 100 orphanage children. The job of the volunteers is to provide academic support to the children, particularly in the subject of English. The young children who do not yet attend school are especially enthusiastic about acquiring English vocabulary, so that they may learn how to speak to volunteers. Volunteers may develop games based on English vocabulary, or other recreational activities that the children can learn and enjoy. Volunteers on this project need to be creative and self-motivating, who enjoy working with children. The children benefit from volunteers who model proper behavior, and provide kind words of encouragement.

Where will I be volunteering?

The project is located in the Masaka District in the south of Uganda and the orphanage is located about 20 minutes from Masaka town center. The Masaka District is 80 miles from the capital city of Kampala.
