On my second day on the Kuna Island of Carti Yandup, San BlasI woke up and my cabina was flooded from the down poor earlier that morning. So is the rainy season in Central America. When the rain stopped, I sat on the dock and watched the children get into the boat, the “school boat” if you will, that took them to the school on the next island. After lunch, the Kuna took me out to another island, Isla Perro. We fished off the back of the boat on the way there. I caught a Tuna which ended up being my dinner. The island was just as beautiful as the one yesterday. Just a couple of huts and some hammocks. There is a ship wreck just off the shore where San BlasI snorkeled and saw lost of beautiful tropical fish. You could stand on top of the ship and see the fish swimming by your feet, the water is so clear! Later in the afternoon, I sat on the beach and watched the sun start before heading back to Carti for dinner and another peaceful night with the Kuna.
